CEDAR RAPIDS — The building on First Avenue SE that housed Pioneer Litho Co. for 58 years has been redeveloped and is almost full, the owners said Monday.
The 5,400-square-foot property, at 1239 First Ave. SE, now consists of three smaller, separate retail spaces and is called the Pioneer Building.
“We are fortunate to have a family asset like this to modify and re-purpose into a vibrant, high-traffic location for new businesses to establish themselves and succeed,” Phil Wasta said in a news release.
Wasta co-owns the property with his brother, John.
The Artisan’s Sanctuary and Kariden Wine Co. each occupy one of the spaces, while the third space remains vacant.
Phil Wasta is the executive director of the MedQuarter, the 55-block self-sustaining municipal improvement district near downtown that encompasses multiple hospital campuses.
The Pioneer Building is inside the MedQuarter.
