Letter: Free enterprise will determine outcome

The small town of Deadwood, South Dakota (pop. 1,261) has 25 casinos. The state of Iowa (with a population over 3.1 million) has 23 or so casinos and is struggling to know if one or two more casinos would upset the balance of casino business within the state.
In the free enterprise system of business the smartest, most adaptable, and most creative will succeed, whereas the less adaptable will not succeed. I say let the businesses find their own levels of success.
Iowa didn't become a state full of drunks when they allowed liquor by the drink. Let the people gamble. I'm not suggesting a casino on every street corner, but if a casino group meets a state standard then they should be given a gambling license.
