The Iowa Photo: Scenic Golf

Normally, my favorite lens for photographing golf is a 600mm. It lets me isolate golfers from the background. It also gives me some working distance and safety from a sliced tee shot. I was waiting for the threesome of golfers to hit onto the green when I noticed West Delaware’s Elias Tibbott preparing for a chip shot. I liked the trio of trees contrasting Elias’ shaded figure. I grabbed the camera with my 70-200mm and waited for him to connect with the ball. I noticed a distracting fence post in the background and had just enough time to shuffle a half step to my right to hide the post behind Elias.
