“I took this photo on my way home from a day spent photographing at the Iowa Capitol in Des Moines,” says Gazette photojournalist Nick Rohlman. “The sunset light was good enough that even after an early morning and a long day I couldn't help but exit the interstate for a gravel road to make the easy sunset photo. In late February and into early March, The Gazette’s photographers spend a lot of time on Interstate 80 traveling to and from Des Moines. I like this photo because it is what I think of when I think about that drive: windmills and the fringes of daylight.”
