The 5K-ish run kicked off a weekend of festivities in North Liberty

The 5K-ish Glow Run kicks off the city’s annual Beat the Bitter’s winter festivities. The winter celebration continues from 4pm to 8pm on Sunday in Penn Meadows Park, 355 E. Penn St., with fire breathing, juggling and spinning performances every 20 minutes, as well as lighted ice sculptures, horse-drawn carriage rides, toasted marshmellows around a bonfire. Events culminate with a 15-minnue fireworks show at 8pm.
