Ihrig says she has been coming to the accompaniment rallies since the summer of 2025 and noticed in December many of the families waiting for their immigration check-ins did not have proper winter gear. She began visiting thrift stores to collect blankets to distribute to families. The table is available for community members to add to and winter gear is handed out during rallies. Lori Ihrig of Iowa City (not pictured) started the donation table after noticing several families in December did not have winter gear to keep warm while waiting in-line.
