Monticello High School’s dance team won the state title in Hip Hop Class IV and Springville placed second in Class I on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, at the Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association state championships in Des Moines.

Monticello received 362 out of a possible 400 points from the four judges and outscored runner-up New Hampton by seven points in Class IV.

Springville was awarded 349.5 points in Class I to finish behind only champion Stanton (359).

In addition, Maquoketa Valley came within one point of earning a trophy in Class III, placing sixth, and East Buchanan competed in Class II.
