IOWA CITY - More than 10,000 toy and candy-filled eggs are to be dropped from a University of Dubuque training helicopter on Saturday as part of the annual Scheels Helicopter Easter Egg Drop.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lower City Park, 200 Park Road in Iowa City. The egg drop is scheduled for noon, weather permitting.
Among the 10,000 eggs are two dozen golden eggs that can be redeemed for prizes from Scheels, a sporting goods store.
Children are to be released to hunt for eggs in waves by age.
The Easter Bunny is also expected to be on hand to greet those in attendance.
