CEDAR FALLS — Northern Iowa released its home events for the 2024-2025 men’s college wrestling season.
The Panthers will host in-state rival Iowa State, Big 12 Conference opponents Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and South Dakota State and non-conference foes Nebraska and Nebraska-Kearney at the McLeod Center, according to Thursday’s news release.
UNI is hosting the National Wrestling Coaches Association Multi-Divisional National Duals at the UNI-Dome on Jan. 11-12. The release noted the NWCA event will include NCAA DIvision I programs again. UNI will be in the D-I bracket for the first time since 2012.
The NWCA tournament consisted of 93 teams in six divisions last year, which includes NCAA D-II and D-III programs.
Doug Schwab will begin his 15th season as UNI head coach. The Panthers were 8-6 overall in duals and 6-2 in the conference last season. UNI placed 14th at the NCAA tournament in March. Parker Keckeisen completed an undefeated season, winning the 184-pound national title with a 31-0 record.
Former Olympic gold medalist David Taylor is in his first year as head coach of Oklahoma State. Former University of Iowa NCAA finalist and Olympic medalist Thomas Gilman is on his staff.
The dates and times of the home duals will be announced at a later date.
