Weekend trail cleanup a success in Linn County

Cedar Rapids, IA - Over 20 volunteers came together on Saturday, November 6
LCTA organizers were stationed at four trail heads in Linn County: McLeod Run; Cedar Valley Nature Trail (Boyson Rd); Cedar River Trail (Sokol Park) and Cedar Lake Loop. Between the four trail heads and the 20 volunteers, almost 20 miles of trails were cleaned. While the trails themselves were not heavily littered, there was debris in the stream along Cedar River Trail (McLeod Run) and Cedar Lake Loop. In total, almost 30 bags of trash was collected by volunteers and picked up by the City of Cedar Rapids.

to beautify the trails in Linn County before the winter season arrives. The Linn County Trails Association (LCTA) organized the event in partnership with the City of Cedar Rapids. The City of Cedar Rapids provided gloves and bags for volunteers to walk along the trails and pick up debris.
