Twin Pines Golf Course is branching out with new trees

September 26, 2011 – Volunteers, community leaders, and Pierce Elementary 4th graders and their teachers are preparing to plant trees and save energy at Twin Pines Golf Course on Friday, September 30 at 10:00 a.m. A program about tree diversification and a demonstration on how to plant a tree will precede the tree planting. This local effort is part of the statewide Trees Forever and Alliant Energy Branching Out community tree program which provided $5,000 to Twin Pines for tree planting.
The Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to have received this grant and to participate in this program that improves the environment and the quality of life for the community. For more information, go to
