SWISHER-
Hundreds of pelicans flock to the Coralville Lake Sunday and people from all over Eastern Iowa brought out their cameras and binoculars to get a glimpse. One Iowa City Bird Club member says the pelican population in our area is growing. He says 20 years ago, pelicans rarely stopped in Eastern Iowa. Now, people can see them throughout the summer and early fall.
"I just think it's a neat thing to get people out that might be a little interested in nature to get out and around a little bit an maybe continue to focus on nature in the future,” said Iowa City Bird Club's Rick Hollis.
Along with the pelican viewing, vendors set-up to offer people more bird watching opportunities in the area.
