One last Post on the Pelican Festival

The Pelican Fest at HWA was a success. 4-500 people visited. I spent the whole time raising and lowering my telescope for young people to look through, then raising it for bigger people, then lowering it.
There were perhaps 1000 pelicans, most of them 1.5+ miles away.
As this is the time for hawk migration and hawks migrate in the day time, we kept our eyes up but saw no hawks that seemed to be moving. There was one Red-tail, one ad Bald Eagle and 1-2 Harriers.
I imagine it will be somewhere in eastern Iowa next year.
