Manchester to host state turkey calling contest

The Iowa State Turkey Calling Contest will be held Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at the Delaware County Community Center in Manchester.
This is an official National Wild Turkey Federation sanctioned contest, and the winners will qualify for the Grand National Championship to be held next February in Nashville, Tenn.
Registration starts at 11 a.m., with the calling following at noon.
The contest features divisions for all ages and calling abilities. Cash awards will be given in the Friction Division, Open Division and State Championship.
