Iowa's Lake Macbride State Park has been selected to receive a $10,000 grant and is eligible to win up to $100,000 in national competition sponsored by Coca-Cola.
Internet voting is under way for “America's Favorite Park” and a $100,000 recreation grant made possible by the Coca Cola Live Positively initiative.
The three parks that receive the most votes by Sept. 6 will be awarded recreation grants in the following amounts: first pace - $100,000; second place - $50,000; and third place, $25,000.
People can go to LivePositively.com to vote for their favorite park.
Gov. Terry Branstad and other dignitaries will be on hand to accept the check from Coca-Cola at Lake Macbride at 10 a.m. Aug. 3.
