The Jones County Ducks Unlimited Chapter is hosting its 31st annual banquet on Saturday, April 2, 2011, at the Legionnaire Ballroom in Oxford Junction.
Doors open at 5 p.m. with the meal starting at 7. The $50 banquet ticket includes an annual DU membership and dinner featuring a 16-ounce rib eye steak expertly cooked by the Jones County Cattlemen.
In honor of one of the chapter's committee members serving in Afghanistan, Alec Embree of Anamosa, the banquet will feature a special raffle drawing for active and reserve military personnel.
For $25, participants will get a one year membership to Ducks Unlimited and 30 tickets entered into a raffle drawing. They will have a chance to win one of four guns and a wildlife print. Membership/raffle packages will be available until noon on Friday, April 1, and only 500 will be sold.
For ticket information or to purchase a DU membership and raffle package, contact Angie Christensen at 563-487-2511 or visit the DU website: http://www.ducks.org/iowa/events and click on the Jones County Ducks Unlimited banquet listing. Select the “buy tickets” and then the “active military membership and raffle” option. Please include your rank and A.P.O. address in the comments box when you check-out.
Anyone with a family member or friend who is serving may buy packages for them.
