Hoover Trail Receives Award

LINN COUNTY, IA - The Linn County Conservation Board, Anderson-Bogert Engineers & Surveyors, Inc. and LL Pelling Company received the 2010 “Trails & Paths Paving Award” from the Asphalt Paving Association of Iowa for the northern section of the Hoover Trail paving project in Linn County. This award recognizes high quality projects that are rated on items such as surface appearance, joints, edges, degree of difficulty and texture. Award recipients represent the best commercial projects in the state.
The northern section of the Hoover Trail connects to the southern tip of the Cedar River Trail (which runs through Cedar Rapids) and extends south from 76

Avenue SW to Wright Brothers Blvd. It is currently open for public use.
The southern phase of the Hoover Trail has been paved all the way into Ely City Park but is not yet open. This project will be completed next spring with final landscaping and edge work. The Linn County Conservation department anticipates the southern section of the Hoover Trail, from Wright Brothers Blvd. into Ely, will be opened for public use in spring 2011.
