Hickory Hill Park, Warbler Walk 5/10

On this hot morning, 44 species of birds were found on the Iowa City Bird Clubs Warbler Walk in Hickory Hill Park, including 5 species of flycatchers, 4 vireos, 3 thrushes and 16 warblers. The list: Great Blue Heron, Barred Owl, Coopers Hawk, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Alder Flycatcher, Least Flycatcher, Eastern Phoebe, Great Crested Flycatcher, Yellow-throated Vireo, Warbling Vireo, Philadelphia Vireo, Red-eyed Vireo, Black-capped Chickadee, House Wren, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Veery, Swainson's Thrush, Wood Thrush, Gray Catbird, Brown Thrasher, Cedar Waxwing, Blue-winged Warbler, Golden-winged Warbler, Tennessee Warbler, Orange-crowned Warbler, Nashville Warbler, Northern Parula, Yellow Warbler, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Black-throated Green Warbler, Blackpoll Warbler, Black-and-white Warbler, American Redstart, Ovenbird, Northern Waterthrush, Common Yellowthroat, Canada Warbler, Scarlet Tanager, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Indigo Bunting, Baltimore Oriole, and American Goldfinch.
We are now about half way through our Warbler Walks for this year.
