The Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department and K9COLA will hold a leash cutting ceremony at the Off Leash Dog Area in Cheyenne Park, 1650 Cedar Bend Lane, Saturday, October 1 at 10:00 a.m. The event is being held to celebrate the reopening of the park following clean up and improvements that were required after the 2008 flood. A recall test will be available for dogs that morning. Refreshments will be provided for people and pets. The public is invited to attend.
Improvements made to the park include debris removal, grading, new fencing, redesign of the yards, and resurfaced trails. The entry way gates were also updated. Permits will be available for sale that day. Daily use of the park is $5. Annual permits are $25 with a $5 discount available.
