Clean-up after Sunday morning storms

An early morning storm ripped through parts of Eastern Iowa Sunday. There were power outages, downed trees, and other debris left much of the area cleaning up Sunday afternoon.
"When I woke up this morning, I knew it was raining pretty hard,” said Hiawatha resident Sister Mary Peter.
It rained. It poured. Mother Nature showed her fury by blowing winds that uprooted trees.
"We expected something because it was a lot of wind,” said City of Swisher employee Craig Vondracek.
Swisher city worker Craig Vondarcek spent much of Saturday morning picking up the storm's aftermath.
"It was pretty rough, but we didn't expect a big tree like this,” said Vondracek.
The storm left just as quickly as it came, but not before unhinging roof shingles and snapping tree branches. The winds swept across the northeast side of Cedar Rapids and Hiawatha.
"I heard this crack and I saw green flying by my balcony window,” said Peter.
The green flash was this tree smashing down on top of Sister Mary Peter's car and her neighbor's car.
"The front and back windows are out. I don't know if there are any dents from the branches. It's hard to tell,” said Peter.
But Peter says she's happy that she wasn't inside the car when the tree came crashing down.
