Vaccines are free and can save lives

I read an Aug. 2 article about people in Missouri who are disguising themselves when they get the COVID vaccine because they don't want to get COVID. They're afraid what their family and friends would say if they found out they got the vaccine.
I, for one, am glad they are getting the vaccine. Why worry about what their family and friends might say when they are protecting themselves? It may protect the family members, who apparently don't care about themselves from getting it as well.
This new variant is very scary. We have both been vaccinated. My husband has MS which is a very disabling disease and his immune system is very low. We are very cautious about where we go and who we interact with. I would hope people would at least consider the more vulnerable people rather than thinking about, "If I get the vaccine will my family disown me?" Seems selfish. It costs nothing to save your life and protect others.
