The ‘Full Grassley’ makes Iowa better

Last week I attended Sen. Chuck Grassley‘s 99th county meeting for the 41st year in a row. It was an outstanding example of representative government. But that’s what we have come to expect from our senior senator.
The room was full of Iowans from all political backgrounds. Farmers asking for a fair market for their cattle and mothers advocating extending the child tax credit. Meetings like this are a culmination of what Iowa is all about: a civil discussion about policies that matter most to us. Grassley had the foresight to create his 99 county tour decades ago and because of that Grassley changed the way Iowans participate in representative government. For Grassley it’s truly a two-way street and many elected officials have followed suit. As an elected representative myself, I look up to Chuck’s accessibility to his constituents. I was inspired by his 99 county tour and decided to paint a Freedom Rock in all of Iowa’s 99 counties to honor our veterans.
Iowa is better off because of the Full Grassley.
