Tamara Marcus for CR City Council

The city of Cedar Rapids is at a turning point. We need elected leaders who understand the interconnectedness of each level of government and how the decisions we make today need to address the needs of future generations. As a Cedar Rapids taxpayer, I support and encourage others to vote for Tamara Marcus for the Cedar Rapids City Council.

As a product of the Cedar Rapids Community School District and a Fullbright Scholarship awardee, Tamara has chosen to return to Cedar Rapids and make it her home. Tamara understands the importance of actively involving the residents of this community in the decision making process to ensure we have policies that meet the needs of our community. Tamara also understands the need for the city of Cedar Rapids and Cedar Rapids Community School District to collaborate more frequently to lift up our students, families and city.

As an educator, I support Tamara’s platform for affordable housing, sustainability initiatives that improve our environment and prepare for future natural disasters, as well as her support for the community school model. Tamara's big picture and creative thinking about how the city of Cedar Rapids and the Cedar Rapids Community School District can work together to find solutions to address the barriers that exist for far too many City Rapidians is what this community needs.
