Medicare, Medicaid recipients face a bumpy road

"Mental health care funding has a bumpy road ahead." That was the headline over The Gazette's May 30 story on the switch in funding of Iowa's regionally based mental health system from county property tax levies to the state's general fund.
Well, guess what? If you're on Medicare or Medicaid you already have a "bumpy road" in mental health care funding. It's so bumpy that a majority of mental health care providers simply refuse to see you if you want to pay with Medicare or Medicaid.
This is a story that needs reporting!
