Although we long have known that lead from ammunition and fishing tackle can pose a danger to many species of wildlife, hunting regulations allow for use of lead shot in Iowa except in certain public wildlife areas, or when hunting waterfowl. (See guest columns published Sunday.) Is it time to do more to encourage or require the use of non-toxic shot and tackle? What, if anything, should be done?
