NORTH LIBERTY — Aldi, a grocery store with a reputation for efficient cashier lines and budget-friendly shopping, is opening its first location in North Liberty.
The German-owned chain will open at 8:30 a.m. May 2 at 725 N. Highway 965. The location is Aldi’s 39th in Iowa, and its eighth in the Corridor.
During the opening day celebration, the first 100 customers will receive a sampling of Aldi Fan Favorites products and a gift card as part of its Golden Ticket giveaway program. Shoppers also can enter sweepstakes during the grand opening weekend May 2 through 5 for a chance to win a $500 Aldi gift card.
“Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier,” said Heather McCarthy, a vice president for Aldi USA. “We’re excited to open our first Aldi store in North Liberty and introduce local customers to a new, more affordable way of shopping.”
The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
