Zuercher, Lee Ambrose
Lee Ambrose Zuercher, 41, of Holy Cross, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, where friends may greet the family from 10 a.m. until mass. The Rev. Raymond Burkle will officiate. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may greet the family today from 2 to 9 p.m. at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Rd., Dubuque, with a prayer service at 3 p.m.
Lee was born Aug. 7, 1968, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Ben and Mildred (Althoff) Zuercher. He married Cami Ritt on Sept. 3, 1988, at St Francis Chuch in Balltown. He was self-employed as a dairy equipment tech and a carpenter.
Above all Lee was a loving father and was very proud of his children. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, camping and spending time with his children, nieces and nephews. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, a former EMT and fireman on the Holy Cross Fire Department. Lee built the addition to their home where the family lives.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Cami of Holy Cross; his children, Coedy, Becca, Noah and Beth Zuercher, all at home; his parents; his siblings, Bob (Wynn), Myrtle Beach, S.C., Joe (Linda), Postville, Dr. Geralyn Zuercher, Iowa City, Wayne (Karen), Guttenberg, Julie (Brian) Doeppke, Elkader, Sue (Dave) Barmore, Cedar Rapids, Doug (Jennifer), Morgan Hills, Calif., and Mike (Bridget), Cedar Rapids; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Doris Ritt, Balltown; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Donna (Matt) Welter, Lakeville, Minn., Tricia (Larry) Roth, Cedar Falls, and Randy Ritt, Balltown; and special friends, Gerald John, Jill Funk and family, Garber, and Amber Pins, Peosta.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
A memorial fund has been established for his children through Farmers Savings Bank in Colesburg.
