Zimmerman, Donna Marie

Donna Marie Zimmerman, 66, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011, in her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 6, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Memorial funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A private family burial will follow at a later date. A memorial fund has been established in her memory.

Donna was born on Nov. 22, 1944, in St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Donna attended Stanwood School and was united in marriage to Roland Eugene Zimmerman on August 23, 1964, in Clarence, Iowa. Donna worked for Tidewater Publishing for 20 years and then worked for the Tipton Aquatic Center and the St. Luke's Clinic. Donna's Christian faith was important to her.

Surviving Donna is her husband, Roland of rural Tipton; her children, Janel (Kirk) Wenndt of Clarence, Tanya (Ben) Sterner of Tipton, Carey (Eddie) King of Stanwood, and Rodney (Jen) Zimmerman of Marion; her father, Leroy Sander of rural Tipton; and sister, Leah Sander of Mason City.
