Ziegler, Mary Beth

Mary Beth Ziegler, 50, of 7056 Eagle Rd., Clermont, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at her home in Clermont. Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at Grace United Methodist Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Darwin Moore and the Rev. Tim Schoepf officiating. Burial: Iowa Veterans Cemetery, west of Des Moines, at a later date. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Clermont Funeral Chapel and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” of Clermont; her children, William “Bill” (Kelly) Ziegler III of Glen Burnie, Md., and Hattie (Andrew) Ring of Berkeley, Calif.; a grandchild, Josie; her mother, Verla Sperry of Oelwein; brother, Bruce (Susan) Sperry of Waterloo; two sisters, Peggy (Dennis) Schrader of Hazleton, and Debbie (Shannon) Hershey of Brooklyn; mother-in-law, Shirley Ziegler of Oelwein; and sisters-in-law, Sharon (Jeff) Weeden of Novelty, Ohio, and Marsha (Robin) Shepherd of Vieques, Puerto Rico.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert; and father-in-law, William “Bill” Ziegler.

Mary Beth was born April 12, 1960, in Oelwein, Iowa, to Albert and Verla (Lincoln) Sperry. She married William Ziegler Jr. on Dec. 15, 1979, at Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein. She graduated from Oelwein High School in 1978. She was an administration assistant and homemaker.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
