Zeman, Marjorie A.
Marjorie A. Zeman, 85, of Solon, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at the Solon Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Solon, with burial in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel in Solon, located at 100 S. Cedar St., where a vigil service will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Marjorie was born May 11, 1928, in rural Solon, the daughter of Frank G. and Tillie (Chaloupka) Reif. She married Robert “Bob” Zeman on Oct. 9, 1946. Marjorie worked at Russells Guide as the Mailing Department manager for over 53 years, retiring in 1997.
She was a member of the Eagles and Moose Club in Iowa City and St. Mary's and St. Wenceslaus Catholic churches.
Marjorie is survived by her husband of over 66 years, Robert G. of Solon; her children, Cecilia Marie (Phil) Crowley of Texas and Robert A. (Lynne) Zeman of Solon; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Johanna Reif, Barbara Von Behren, Christian Reif and Alma Geise.
