Young, Sandra Ruby
Sandra Ruby Young, 46, of Center Point, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lafayette Christian Church, rural Alburnett, by the Rev. Kendal Dewitt. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Burial: Lafayette Cemetery, rural Alburnett.
Survivors include her husband, James; two daughters, Nicole (Adam) Petersen and Danielle Young; her mother, Shirley (Earl) Ward; two grandchildren, Jonathan and Adam; her siblings, Scott (Dionne) Wilson, Scott (Sharon) Ward, Robyn Jahlas and Eric Ward; and her mother-in-law, Mary Young.
She was preceded in death by her father, William; half brother, Steven Wilson; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Sandra was born April 5, 1963, the daughter of William and Shirley (Joens) Russell, in Poweshiek County, Iowa. On June 16, 1989, she was united in marriage to James Young. Sandra worked as an OMT at Evergreen Estates. She enjoyed reading, watching TV and fishing.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
