Young, Lester A.
Lester A. Young, 85, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at Highland Ridge Care Center, Williamsburg. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, with the Rev. David Remfer officiating. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home following the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Toledo. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established.
He is survived by his daughters, Jeanne Marie Carter of Wise, Va., and Barbara Jo Barrick and husband Geoffrey of Fort Dodge; eight grandchildren, Leslie Jacobs (Shannon) of Woodbridge, Va., Lara Page (Aaron) of St. Roberts, Mo., Lynn Carter (Sandra) of Robins, Michelle Hermeier (Glenn) of Stoddard, Wis., Ambri Refer of Independence, Seth Refer of Johnston, Sarah Barrick of Marengo and Erin Barrick of Fort Dodge; and nine great-grandchildren, Tyler and Cody Maxwell, Brenna Page, Cassandra and Cody Carter, Paige Gregg, Christine and Steven Hradek and Zach Hermeier.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty in 1991; two sons in infancy, James and David; and a daughter, Linda. His siblings also preceded him in death: Robert Nash, Raymond Nash, Tommy Young, Archie “Lyle” Meeker, John Young, William Nash and Marie Holt.
