York II, Bently E. 'Ben'
Bently E. “Ben” York II, 21, of 2728 Otis Rd. SE, died too soon on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Nick Longworth will officiate. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.
Survivors include his parents, Bently and Becky York; brothers, Wes York and Nate Robinson; and sister, Nicole Robinson, and her sons, Marquise and Quincy.
Ben's loving grandparents are Ruth Bachman and the Rev. Don Caspers. Uncles and aunts include Dan and Connie Bachman of Cedar Rapids, Sue and Gary Statton of Normal, Ill., Nancyne and Gary Iverson of Woodward, Lenora Dickerson of Boone, Larry and Theresa Ostrem of Albuquerque, N.M., Joe and Kelly Hintzen of Des Moines, Al Caspers of Minneapolis, Rod Caspers and Bill Staples of Austin, Texas, Scott and Cindy Caspers of Glenn Ellyn, Ill., and De and Kim Luckey of Richland Center, Wis. Ben's cousins are Chelsea and Leland Dean and their children, Macy and Garrick; Kyle Statton; Kevin and Terri Anderson; Russ and Audra Dickerson; Julie Eliot and her son, Austin; Alex and Claire Ostrem; Will and Jonathan Caspers; Craig, Julia, and Rosemary Smith; James Luckey; and Jenny, Jamie and Joe Goodall.
Those greeting Ben in Heaven are his grandparents, Bee Caspers, Max Bachman and Rosa York. His cat, Sophie is with him as well.
Ben's proud accomplishments include the Eagle Scout award in 2005, graduation from Metro High School in 2009, and a semester at Kirkwood in 2011. Ben's greatest joy in life was helping others. His sweet, gentle soul will be missed by all. Those who knew him loved him greatly.
