Yirkovsky, Darrell D.
Darrell D. Yirkovsky, 70, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at his home. Per Darrell's wished his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 5, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. The Rev. John Gossman will officiate.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; children, Darrell Dean Boland, Mary Merwin, Dafney Yirkovsky, Holly Yirkovsky, Johnny Yirkovsky, Ronald Yirkovsky and DeAnn Yirkovsky, sisters, Mariam Houser, Patty Bridge, Edna Hunter and Shirley Ottaway; a brother, Ron Yirkovsky, grandkids and great-grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Myrtle Yirkovsky.
Darrell was born April 1, 1939, in Calmar, Iowa, the son of James and Myrtle (Bolonga) Olson-Yirkovsky. He married Marilyn Mundy on March 22, 1961, in Cedar Rapids. Ernest was a United States Army veteran. He retired in 1998 after 18 years of service with Linn County LIFTS. He was a member of the Yirkovsky family and loved by everyone.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Yirkovsky family.
