Yingst, Alaine A.
Alaine A. Yingst, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Memorial Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at First Church of the Open Bible, Cedar Rapids. Inurnment: Oakland Cemetery, Solon. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Brenda (Joe) Murphy of Muscatine, Lori (Paul) Dvorak of Shueyville, and Nick Ford, Eric Ford and Tyler Ford, all of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jean DeRosa of O'Fallon, Mo., Betty (Ken) Welsch of St. Charles, Mo., and Ruby Ford of Tennessee; and three brothers, Ernest Ford, Everett (Chris) Ford and Aaron Ford, all of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Boles; sister, Edna “Angel” Rucker; and two brothers, Harlen Ford and Elvin Ford.
Alaine was born March 8, 1938, the daughter of Robert and Nettie (Steelman) Ford, in Chestnut Hill, Tenn. She married Rolley Boles in Tennessee and moved to Iowa in 1960. Alaine worked as a CNA for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, retiring in 1990. She also was a foster mother and adopted three boys.
