Yedlik, Mary Lou
Mary Lou Yedlik, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday morning, Feb. 14, 2013.
Born July 16, 1921, in Kingston, Iowa, she was the daughter of John Peter and Wilhelmina Johanna “Minnie” Koch Rice. She married Robert W. Yedlik on Sept. 12, 1947, in Burlington. He died July 20, 1999.
Mary Lou worked at I.A.A.P. and later as a waitress. She was a homemaker and enjoyed casinos, TV soap operas and home life.
She is survived by one son, Charles E. Brown of Alexandria, Minn.; two granddaughters, Joan (Martin) Walsh of Fairfield, Ohio and Wendy Tracy of Hugo, Minn.; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Danielle Tracy; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; four brothers, Johnny, Edward, Ralph and Harold; and 11 sisters, Esther, Rosa, Katie, Hattie, Lena, Nellie, Grace, Edna, Mabel, Hazel and Ruby.
Funeral services for Mary Lou Yedlik will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Prugh's Chapel, Burlington. Pastor JudyAnn Morse will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Prugh's Chapel.
