Yates, Steve
Steve Yates, 63, of Waterloo, died at his home Thursday, April 28, 2011, from metastatic melanoma. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home in Waterloo.
John Stephen Yates was born Oct. 31, 1947, the son of Willard and Cloeta (Foster) Yates. He married Lani Dunston on July 13, 1968, in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington in 1966 and UNI in 1975, and worked at John Deere.
Survivors include his wife, Lani; sons, Dustin and Brett; sister, Diane (John Lund) Hudson of Marion; and his mother-in-law, Evelyn Dunston of Cedar Rapids.
Memorials to Central Christian Church or Cedar Valley Hospice, Waterloo.
