Wyatt-Meis, Bonni Lou
Bonni Lou Wyatt-Meis, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at her home. A Celebration of Life service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, temporarily located at 3100 F Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. A private family inurnment will be at a later date in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bonni was born Feb. 1, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Fredrick N. and Viola I. Blessing Krumm. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1949. She married R. Robert Wyatt in August 1949. She married Herman “Ben” Meis on Jan. 1, 1990, in Cedar Rapids. Ben and Bonni moved to Baytown, Texas for over five years. Bonni was a long time employee and supervisor with J.C. Penney until her retirement. She was an active volunteer with the Cedar Rapids Cadets, Grenadiers and Emerald Knights Drum and Bugle Corps.
Bonni was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Bonni is survived by her children, Scott, Robin, Kim (Randy), Peter (Angela), Tom (Denise), Barbara (Terry) and Matt (Cathy); 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Betsy Kessler and Beverly (Bud) Carnahan; and her brothers, Fred (Beverly) Krumm and Don Krumm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Jeffery; her husband, Ben, on March 31, 2006; and her constant canine companion, Fred.
Memorials may be directed to St. Luke's Hospice, The Animal Welfare Foundation of Iowa, or the charity of the donor's choice.
