Wurzer, Carl E.
Carl E. Wurzer, 93, of Lawler, Iowa, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at Linn Haven Rehab & Healthcare in New Hampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Lawler, with interment at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. The Harold Redman American Legion Post 279 of Lawler will present full military honors. Friends may greet the family from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Lawler, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. parish Scripture service. Visitation continues an hour before the service at the church. Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home in New Hampton is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his daughter, Joan (Dan) Moore of Cedar Rapids; son, Duane (JoAnn) Wurzer of Lawler; Hans Walter Boetel of Germany, a former foreign exchange student and longtime family friend; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
