Alice Elizabeth Burkle was born July 7, 1926, in rural Dyersville, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Willenborg) Burkle. Alice received her education in the Olberding school in the Dyersville area. Alice E. Burkle and Jerome F. Wulfekuhle were married Feb. 14, 1955, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Dyersville. Together they farmed near Masonville and Worthington before moving to a farm east of Sand Springs in 1962. Alice was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sand Springs for many years. In November 2006, they retired and moved to Monticello.
Alice enjoyed baking and spoiled her family with delicious cookies, bars, breads and pies. Her family favorite, chocolate revel bars, put a smile on everyone's face. She also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and watching the birds attracted to the feeders in her yards. Alice spent many hours updating family scrapbooks and tracking her family genealogy.
