Wroblewski, Vincent A.
Vincent A. Wroblewski, 85, of Cascade, formerly of Monticello, died Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Shady Rest Care Center, Cascade. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Kramer Funeral Home, Monticello, where a parish Scripture service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Graveside military honors will be presented by the Monticello Drill Team and the Iowa Army Guard Honors Detail. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Father Keith Birch.
Vincent was born on March 31, 1926, in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Anton and Florence Parrott Wroblewski. He served in the United States Army from 1944 until 1946 in the 748th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion. Vincent loved to play golf, spend time on his computer, tell stories and socialize with his friends.
Surviving Vincent is his sister, Betty Schlimmer of Monticello; two nephews, Jack (Renae) Schlimmer of Lincoln, Neb., and James (Ellen) Weis of Jacksonville, Fla.; two nieces, Jean (Kenny) Wilson of Clay Center, Neb., and Kathleen Weis of New Hope, Pa.
Vincent is also survived by grandnephew, Josh; and grandnieces, Jackie, Renee Jennifer, Chris, Angie and Christina.
Memorials are preferred.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Helen Weis; and nephew, Tom Schlimmer.
