Wright, Orville LeRoy
Orville LeRoy Wright, 96, passed away Feb. 28, 2011, at the Cresco Care Center in Cresco. Family graveside services were held March 3 at Utica-Seneca Evergreen Cemetery in Seneca, Wis. Conway Funeral Home in Cresco was in charge of arrangements.
Orville was born May 14, 1914, in Troy Mills, Iowa, the son of Claude and Goldie (Wickham) Wright. On Nov. 9, 1933, he was united in marriage to Augusta Baldwin. Orville and Augusta farmed around the community of Central City until 1957, when they moved to a farm at Lynxville, Wis. Augusta passed away Feb. 13, 1987. In October 1988, Orville moved to Onalaska, Wis., where he lived until he moved to Cresco, Iowa, in March 2010.
Orville enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, coon hunting, dancing to polka music, and raising Shetland ponies.
Orville is survived by four sons, Donovan (Donna) Wright of West Branch, Keith Wright of Ferryville, Wis., Ron (Linda) Wright of Cresco and Lonnie Wright of Guttenberg; one daughter, Dixie (Leon) Kelchen of Dundee; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Augusta in 1987; one son, Merle “Butch” Wright in 2009; his parents; three sisters; and one daughter-in-law, Dorothy Wright.
