Wright, Lee 'Bigman' George
Lee “Bigman” George Wright, 62, of 1835 Sixth Ave. SE, formerly of Greenwood, Miss., died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital following a lengthy illness. Services will be held 3 p.m. today at Valley View Baptist Church, 5555 Mount Vernon Rd. SE, conducted by Pastor Ben Geho and Pastor Keith Pitts Burial: at Oakhill Cemetery at a later date.
Lee was born Feb. 23, 1947, in Greenwood, Miss., to Woodrow and Minnie Wright. In 1969, he married Barbara Musgrove. Lee operated a janitorial service for over 20 years. He was a gentle giant and was loved by ALL who knew him. He was full of life, humor, and love. He possessed a creative side that was know mostly by those who knew him best. It wasn't unusual for him to change the entire color scheme of the house over night. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his companion, Phyllis Cooper; children, Allen, Woodrow, Steven, John, Scott, Danelle, Darane, DaRaylin, Darryus, KeShawn, April, Cynthia, Sandra, Louise, Alice, Dyane, Regina, and Carolyn; brothers, Marvin, Milton, Robert, Willie, and Johnnie B; sisters, Caldonia, Gloria, Dorthy, Pecola, Shirlene, Linda, Clara, Dorthy, and Maxine; a host of half brothers and sisters; as well as 24 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins,
Lee was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Henry, Roy, and Leroy; sisters, Marilyn and Margaret; and grandsons, Jack and Daniel.
The family wishes to thank all of those who offered their love, support, and rides to BINGO.
