Wright, Lawrence Wilmer
Funeral services for Lawrence Wilmer Wright, 89, of Bennett, who died Friday, March 8, 2013, will be held Tuesday, March 12, at 10:30 a.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with Chaplain Theresa Keller officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Inland Cemetery, Bennett, with full military rites.
Lawrence was born July 14, 1923, in Tipton, Iowa, the son of Rollie Wilmer and Vera Lucille (Willer) Wright. Lawrence was a graduate of Tipton High School and served in the U.S. Army and the Army Air Corps. On Sept. 18, 1948, Lawrence was united in marriage to Rose Marie Spickermann. He worked for 42 years farming and then with wood carvings for 14 years. Lawrence was a member of the American Legion and the Farm Bureau.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Wright of Bennett; children, Roger (Gay Ann) Lawrence Wright of Davenport, James Allen Wright of Bennett and Susan Marie Wright of Bennett; and brother, Paul (Janice) Wright of Tipton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marvin Wright; and numerous aunts and uncles.
