Wright, Ione Ettabelle
Ione Ettabelle Wright, 81, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 21, at Noelridge Christian Church, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Stew Royce. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may visit at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids on Sunday, May 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday after 9 a.m.
Ione was born March 10, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of I.O. and Violet (Merkle) Brenneman. A Cedar Rapids resident, she attended school at McKinley and Roosevelt and graduated from Franklin High School class of 1949. She married Ronald Phillip Wright, the love of her life, on Dec. 31, 1950, in Cedar Rapids. She worked at Collins Radio, Sears and Roebuck and later at the family business, Wright Way Recreational Vehicles.
In her spare time she loved collecting antiques, china painting, spending time with family and church activities. She was a charter member of Noelridge Park Christian Church.
Ione was a loving, caring wife, mother and friend who will be dearly missed by all.
Ione is survived by her children, Ronald P. Wright Jr. (Pat) of Ponder, Texas, Sheryl Stillions (Steve) of Marion, Robert C. Wright (Teresa) of Toddville, Rick E. Wright of Marion and Richard A. Wright of Pine Top, Ariz.; sister, Gladys Hastings of Pekin, Ill.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband and granddaughter, Sonya Stillions, preceded her in death.
