Wratten, Elma M. 'Polly'
Elma M. “Polly” Wratten, 92, of Redding, Calif., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, July 2, 2010, in Willow Springs Care Facility, Redding, Calif. A service commemorating Polly's life will be held in Cedar Rapids at a future date.
Survivors include her children, Stephen Jay Wratten and Merry Lynne Adkins; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Polly Wratten, the only child of Elbert and Merry Parrott, grew up and lived nearly all her life in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Coe College and married Dr. Jay Wratten in 1948. She enjoyed bridge, bowling, boating and many social activities, and was active in the First Congregational Church.
After her husband died in 1995, she moved to St. Louis near her son, and later to Redding, Calif., where her daughter lives.
