Wooldridge, Sally A.
Sally A. Wooldridge, 77, of Center Point, Iowa, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following a short illness. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point.
Survivors include her husband, James; children, Jill (Blaine) Rittmer of Toddville and Andy (Ann) Wooldridge of Center Point; adopted son, Terry Wooldridge of San Marcos, Texas; foster son, Robert Heiderscheid of Homestead, Fla.; grandchildren, Kyle and Jacy Rittmer and Jessica, Arika, Allison and Jaclyn Wooldridge; and cousin, Joanne Allen of Loda, Ill.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents; and three foster sons, Edward, Paul and John Heiderscheid.
Born Oct. 15, 1936, in Paxton, Ill., Sally was the daughter of Marvel and Anita (Rasmus) Thompson. On Nov. 26, 1958, she was united in marriage to James Wooldridge in Champaign, Ill. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in journalism. Sally worked for the Department of Corrections as a social worker.
Sally's special joy was raising her children and foster children and attending her grandchildren's activities. She also liked horseback riding, gardening and spending the winter months in Wickenburg, Ariz. In retirement, she and Jim did trail riding and were able to ride their horses in 32 different states.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Sally's memory.
