Woods Jr., Clark
Clark Woods Jr., 67, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital. Homegoing services will be 5 p.m. Sunday at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids, located at 6621 C Ave. NE. Visitation will be one hour before the services at the church. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Hillside, Ill.
Clark was born March 19, 1945, in Cruger, Miss., the son of Clark and Ethel (Hoskins) Woods Sr. Clark worked for the Chicago Northwestern and Union Pacific for many years until his retirement. He married Thaddy Lindsey on April 7, 1970, in Greenwood, Miss., and they later renewed their vows in Iowa City in 1982.
Clark is survived by his wife, Thaddy; children, Jessie (Mike) Taylor of Cedar Rapids, George (Betty) Ratliff, Judy (Obie) Dixon, Tony (Harriet) Watkins, Cora (Terry) Bryant, Rosie Wallace, Nathaniel Watkins and Terry Woods, all of Cedar Rapids; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ira Charlene Bell of Rohnert Park, Calif., Yvonne (Robert) Johnson of Chicago and Shirley Coleman of Joliet, Ill.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Henry Lee Woods; a sister, Coretha Hudson; and a son, Lenell Woods.
