Woods, E. Gladys
E. Gladys Woods, 87, of Center Point, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at her daughter's home in Reno, Nev. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Walker, conducted by Ardel Barta. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Walker.
Survivors include her children, Edward Joseph, Shirley Jean and William, Brenda Marie and David; eight grandchildren, Eddie, Melonie and Craig, Eric and spouse, Robert and Ariel, Erin Michelle, Emily Marie, Easton Hudson and Alysha Louise; two great-grandchildren, Avery and Abi; and three siblings, Leona, Bernadine and Robert.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph in 1991; son, Robert James in 1957; and siblings, Leo, Bill, Kate and Mike.
Gladys was born Nov. 30, 1925, in Center Point, Iowa, daughter of Ed and Mary (Barta) Klima. She graduated high school and then went to Kirkwood Community College for nursing. Gladys married Joseph Woods on May 5, 1947. She worked as a homemaker and nurse's aide. Gladys was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
