Wood, Rawlin Karnel
Rawlin Karnel Wood, 40, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2012. Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Unity Center, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. brenda ehret. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Rawlin is survived by his two beautiful daughters, Alexandra Jasmine Wood and Shaylin Marie Wood.
He is also survived by his mother, Patly (Wood Konzen) Clarey-Sage of Cedar Rapids; his father, Greg Wood of Destin, Fla,; his “step-dude” elmo Konzen; and the mothers of his daughters, Leah Witherspoon and Shandi Davis.
He had a loving family of brothers and sisters, including Ashley Swore (Becky Aldridge), Austin Wood, Emily Flowergarden (Grant Munson), Raelene Swore, and Noah Konzen.
He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews from all around the globe.
Rawlin was born Nov. 1, 1972, in Grand Rapids, Mich., the son of Greg and Patly. He graduated from high school in Cedar Rapids and lived in several places around the states including Arizona, New York, Michigan, Oregon, Florida, Louisiana and Iowa. He worked hard as a roofer most of his life in both Iowa and Florida.
He was a talented skateboarder in his youth and one of his greatest joys was playing music, specifically his bass guitar and mandolin. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, adventurous lifestyle and loving spirit. Rawlin touched many lives and was loved by all who knew him.
